Traveling Back in Time

From the sunny slopes of Mount Rainier we headed east to the rolling hills of the Palouse.  We visited Washington State University where Duncan and I met.  The campus has grown quite a bit, with many new buildings.  We wondered around to find the dorm I lived in, which looked the same, but there is a new building on one side of it and another going up on the other.  The CUB (Compton Union Building) has completely changed and now has a two level Bookie, a food court, video games, a huge screen TV, and much more.  The place is so much bigger than UAF.  Sydney was impressed with the fact that they have lots of animals, including bears.  She now thinks that she may need to go to college there.

The clock tower will never change.

Of course we had to visit Ferdinand's and get ice cream and Cougar Gold Cheese.  Although, in a new location, Ferdinand's is still awesome.

Ferdinand's!

Watching Dill Garlic cheese being made at the WSU Creamery.

My niece and her family were at WSU for the football game so we were able to get in some more visit time.  We then headed to Spokane for a couple of nights.  In Spokane we visited with Fanette, Jody, and Jeff Stewart who I knew from my childhood days in Coffman Cove.  It was so wonderful to see them and reminisce.

After an impromptu sleepover, Sydney has breakfast with her little cousins.

My cute and very entertaining great nieces.

We are now going to venture to Glacier National Park.
