Glacier National Park

We spent three days in Glacier National Park.  I found the lack of glaciers a little surprising.  I understand climate change and all, but I don't really think they had that many glaciers to begin with, at least not by our Alaska standards.  It was a very nice park however, and the rock formations were very impressive.  For a park developed primarily by the railroad to promote tourism, it was pretty Awesome.

We began our stay with a quick hike up to Avalanche Lake.  It was a five mile round trip jaunt, that only gained 500 feet in elevation.

Cool and colorful rocks.

Awesome Layers.
Sydney resting beside the creek.

The next day we drove the Going to the Sun road. It was an amazing trip across the Rockies.  The road was carved into the side of the mountain, and rocks hung over the top of the truck in many places.  We also drove to Many Glaciers on the east side of the park.  We actually saw a grizzly bear and some mountain goats.

Amazing what a little water will do.

Awesome landscapes.

Rugged Hills

Waterfalls stepping down the hill.

The road climbed higher.

A beautiful evening.

The road is cut into the mountain.

More layered rock.

We saw a grizzly.

The evening sun reflects off the hills.
